Siemens is very proud to have opened our brand-new office building in June 2021 in the heart of Hebburn. We have named our new building Alphonse Reyrolle House to continue the heritage of Alphonse Constant Reyrolle who founded the company in 1886 and moved the business to South Tyneside in 1901. At its peak Reyrolle manufactured switchgear for power stations worldwide employing 12,000 people.
Siemens operates in the energy sector and our portfolio covers the whole spectrum of applications to design, finance, build, operate and maintain a modern smart grid and power distribution systems. We had our very own Covid heroes working throughout the pandemic, maintaining power during times of need to hospitals, businesses and homes. Our people are the heart of the business and their wellbeing comes first, always.
We are delighted to sponsor the category of “Choice Environmental Champion Award”. It’s an honour to present this award and a privilege to acknowledge “an individual or group” who has gone above and beyond in a time where sustainability is key.
South Tyneside Council is pleased to be able to sponsor this event which recognises all the positive contributions to our local community. We hope that many local businesses and members of the community take the opportunity to submit entries for the awards and we wish those that do the best of luck. These awards provide a unique opportunity to showcase the remarkable contributions of residents, community groups, local businesses and organisations that make a real difference in the lives of our residents. We are proud to stand alongside them in celebrating their achievements.
