Ashfield District Council

Ashfield District Council are proud to once again be supporting the Chad Business & Community Excellence Awards and to headline with the Big Thank You Award.

The awards allow local businesses to showcase their work and we are encouraging all businesses to enter.

We are working with partners to invest in our three town centres as well as delivering projects to support businesses across the district. This includes improving skills and education provision with brand new facilities for construction and civil engineering, as well as the flagship project, the ADMC (Automated Manufacturing and Distribution Centre) which will support businesses across the region to develop automation and increase productivity.

The Council’s Business Support Team is here to help businesses wishing to start, grow and improve their productivity. Ashfield’s Education and Skills Partnership is delivering an improvement plan, working together to ensure the District’s recruitment and skills needs are met. UK Shared Prosperity Funding is supporting this work, with over £1 million allocated to provide support to businesses such as workforce development and digital skills training, decarbonisation advice and how to access global markets, and a further £750,000 for skills, including basic life skills, developing collaboration between education and businesses as well as supporting people into new careers. The business support programmes are due to be launched later this summer.

Follow us on LinkedIn and Facebook to keep informed and updated on our services and support for businesses, including information about new grant schemes or contact us via:

We encourage all businesses to enter this year’s awards and wish you the best of luck.
It has been a challenging time for businesses, but over £21million of government business support grants were issued across Ashfield and we have supported businesses as they have reopened providing help and advice around government guidelines.

The Council continues to be committed to offering support to all businesses and as part of this we are supporting greater access to local skills projects and have established a partnership of educational organisations to ensure services meet recruitment and skills needs.

We’ve welcomed a number of new businesses to Ashfield and despite the unprecedented times businesses continue to adapt to meet customer needs.

We encourage all businesses in Ashfield to enter this year’s awards.

Lashes Foundation - Charity Partner

Lashes Foundation
In July 2021, Emma and Lee Wilson devastatingly lost Evie aged 13. Evie brightened up any room she walked into with her beautiful smile, giggle and witty sense of humour. She was a special individual who always put others above herself. The Lashes Foundation was set up to keep Evie's legacy alive, carry on her kindness and help others in the local community – just like she did.
