Judges

The selection process for the awards involves an impartial panel of industry experts who generously volunteer their time to evaluate submissions. These individuals are chosen for their expertise and experience.

Judges review entries, ensuring a fair and unbiased evaluation. In cases where judges have conflicts of interest within specific categories, they abstain from participating in the assessment of those particular entries.

Upon the submission deadline, judges receive all entries in a uniform format, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations. Each entry is then scored by the judges based on the defined criteria for each category.

Judges meet to discuss their assessments and collectively reach a final decision on a single day, solely based on the content provided in the written entries.

It is crucial to note that the entire judging process is conducted confidentially, and all decisions reached during this process are considered final.

Martin Rigley OBE

Director - Gordian Consulting

Martin's career began with an Advanced Apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering with British Coal over 35 years ago. 14 years in coal mining saw a career path of apprentice, electrician, supervisor, shift engineer and through to colliery engineer.

In 1994 he took up the position of Technical Director at Lindhurst Engineering progressing to Managing Director in 2000, a position I still currently hold.

During his time at Lindhurst I have overseen the growth of the business (a 5 fold increase in turnover between 1999 and 2008) and diversification from servicing the coal mining sector to multiple market sectors (construction, utilities, power generation, transport and low carbon)

His personal growth journey ignited my interest in coaching and mentoring as the result of the positive experience I have had being coached and mentored. In 2014 my experience as a business leader saw me receive requests to coach other SME business leaders and was the start of my career as a coach.

Critical friend and confidant to business owners and company Directors. I’m the ear you’ve been looking for.
