
Trudy Morris took up the post of inaugural Chief Executive of Caithness Chamber of Commerce in January 2009, when the Chamber was re-launched.
In October 2025, the Chamber took the decision to change its name to North Highland Chamber of Commerce to better reflect its sphere of influence, geographical reach and representation.
The Chamber is the foremost business organisation in the North Highlands and supports every type of business, from sole traders and small businesses to large corporate companies. It is the UK's most northerly chamber with over 300 members, spanning a vast range of industry sectors.
Trudy is also an executive director of Caithness Business Fund, an organisation which supports start-ups and SMEs with grants. Since 2019, with support from organisations such as Baillie Wind Farm, NRS Dounreay, the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and West of Orkney Wind Farm, the Fund has been supporting businesses with apprenticeship grants, creating 35 apprenticeship opportunities in Caithness and North Sutherland in a range of sectors.
Trudy leads Developing the Young Workforce North Highland, which it is a vital part of Scotland’s careers and skills system, supporting young people as they prepare for the world of work. Since 2015, DYW North Highland has delivered thousands of events, supported a generation of young people, created meaningful opportunities and helped build a positive narrative for young people in the North Highlands.

David Reid is the Co-founder of business transformation enterprise, Powering Futures. A former Vice-President of global professional services company Jacobs, David decided 5 years ago to spend time on roles which allows him to focus on opportunities which ‘ignite his passion’. This culminated in co-founding Powering Futures, an organisation which engaged the next generation to create a pipeline of talent for the jobs of the future.
Whilst David has a transportation background he worked across all infrastructure sectors within Jacobs European business including Head of Rail and subsequently Head of Strategy and Growth based mainly in London. David’s approach is to adopt a similar global mindset to Powering Futures and support his team in growing from the successful Scottish base internationally.
He was a director of Stenhousemuir Football Club for over 35 years which included the Chairman’s position for 8 years.

Mick Moore has over the last ten years acted as Executive Sponsor for the Dounreay Apprenticeship and Professional Development Schemes.
A Chartered Engineer and Chartered Project Professional, Mick has spent twenty-four years in the nuclear industry employed by UKAEA, Cavendish Nuclear and now Services Director at NRS Dounreay; having undertaken prior roles within the nuclear submarine propulsion programme, Ignalina in Lithuania and Chalk River in Canada.
Prior to joining the nuclear industry Mick has pursued careers within the petrochemicals industry, steel industry, manufacturing and the Fire Service. He started work as an apprentice mechanical technician within a quarry to steel refractories production organisation.
