Josh Oxby

Energy Advisor - Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology (POST)

Josh is the Energy Advisor for the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology (POST) supporting the select committees of both Houses. He ensures that the best available energy research evidence and information is brought to bear on legislative processes and scrutiny of Government.
He has extensive international experience as a IEA people-centred analyst & global occupations and skills advisor, and is also currently the Global Focal Point for the UN SDG7 Youth Constituency – the energy working group of the Major Group for Children and Youth mandated by the UN General Assembly.

Iain Miller

Head of Connections Design - Northern Powergrid

After graduating in 1992, Iain joined Northern Powergrid, where he initially worked in asset management, system planning and design, and project management. In 2016, he took on the role of leading NPg’s innovation efforts, focusing on enhancing electricity supply resilience in response to growing electricity dependency. Since 2023, Iain has been heading NPg’s Connections Design team, facilitating connections for generators, storage systems, heat pumps, and EV charging stations.

Georgina Johnson

Programme Manager - Ahead Partnership

Ahead Partnership is a purpose-led organisation that drives inclusive growth, bringing together public and private sector partners through delivering bespoke skills and employment programmes. As Programme Manager, Georgina leads the delivery of Growing Talent Greener Futures, a year-round initiative designed to inspire young people around green skills and career opportunities.

Head of School - New College Durham

An experienced leader in Further Education, I specialise in apprenticeships, curriculum development and mobilisation through skills. I’ve driven innovation through projects focused on green skills. Passionate about future-focused learning, I excel in strategic planning and collaboration with employers to meet evolving skills needs.

Lisa Stafford

Head of Retrofit Solutions - Esh Group

Lisa moved into construction in 1997 and has extensive experience in framework and bid management and business development. At Esh since 2010, she leads the bid team for commercial and housing projects. Since launching the retrofit division in 2022, key retrofit and decarbonisation contracts have been secured with Thirteen Group and local councils

Director - NEIoT (North East Institute of Technology)

As Director of NEIoT, I am committed to promoting STEM and raising sector skills awareness across the region. I am passionate about collaborating with the NEIoT employer-education network to build a work ready talent pipeline and to highlight the ongoing technical advancements in the North East.

Jack Beckwith

Environmental Officer - believe housing

I have worked in sustainability roles in social housing for six years, helping secure ~£13m of funding for retrofit projects to thousands of properties, with a large WH:SHF wave 3 bid currently pending. I have a HNC in Building Studies, and am also currently completing a part-time Environmental Humanities MA.

Anna Romachney

Higher and Further Education Coordinator - Carbon Literacy Project

Anna leads Carbon Literacy for Further & Higher Education (FHE), supporting those in the sector to adopt training for their staff and students educating them about the climate crisis and enabling them to take effective action. She first became Carbon Literate
as a student and quickly advanced to become a student trainer, delivering Carbon Literacy training to both her peers and university staff.

Andrew Esson

Head of Future Skills Lead - ORE Catapult

Andrew is Head of Future Skills Lead at the ORE Catapult. Based in Blyth, he works closely with industry stakeholders, education and training providers to support the development of a skills strategy and operating model that supports a future pipeline of talent into the Offshore Renewable Energy sector.

Graham Hasting-Evans

Chief Executive - NOCN Group

Graham Hasting-Evans, NOCN Group’s Chief Executive, transitioned from building and construction to shaping the London 2012 Olympics' skills strategy. Prior roles include UK Commission for Employment and Skills program director. As a champion of accessibility and social mobility he's participated in UK apprenticeship reform, initiated Trailblazer standards, and has advanced Green Skills advocacy through reports and event engagements.

Angela Foulkes CBEAN

Chief Executive and Principal - The Sheffield College

Angela’s wealth of experience, and expertise in further education includes significant knowledge across a broad range of curriculum and student support services gained in over 30 years in the sector.

Charlie Guthrie

Head of Renewables - 3t Training Services

Charlie Guthrie is Head of Renewables for 3t Training Services and is a member of the Energi Coast skills and leadership groups. Charlie is passionate about supporting ex-forces personnel and women into the wind sector and has worked with developer Orsted to launch Women into Wind and the Ministry of Defence on Military2Wind.

Iain Nixon

Vice Principal Partnerships & Commercial - Education Partnership North East

Education Partnership North East is an awarding winning regional college group based in the North East of England. As Group Vice Principal, Iain is the strategic lead for apprenticeships, business development and partnerships, subcontracting, and external funding. He is also the college group’s lead on the sustainability and green agenda.

Holly Hansen-Maughan

Sector Manager for Action Sustainability’s Supply Chain Sustainability School -

Holly is a Sector Manager for Action Sustainability’s Supply Chain Sustainability School. She leads the Future Workforce and Retrofit Sectors for the UK. She works with the top companies across the built environment industry, and has recently launched the new sector which enables education providers to join the School alongside them to bridge the industry-education gap. She is also delivering a large programme throughout 2024 on retrofit skills. She has a background in Further Education, and is qualified in sustainability and education.

Charlotte Bonner

CEO - EAUC

Charlotte joined the EAUC team in February 2023 as CEO and is responsible for the strategic
leadership of the organisation. She has over fifteen years’ leadership experience across membership
and tertiary education organisations where she’s focused on business development,
transformational engagement and policy and advocacy.

Before joining EAUC she was the Education and Training Foundation’s education for sustainable
development (ESD) lead and prior to that was a keystone of NUS’ sustainability work, most notably
project managing the UNESCO ESD prize winning Green Impact programme from its inception. She
was a co-founder of Students Organizing for Sustainability International. She’s previously held senior
teaching associate positions at the University of Bristol and was a sustainability consultant working
with private and public sector clients prior to her tenure at NUS.

Charlotte has an MSc in energy and environmental technologies, is a Fellow of the RSA and a board
member at Change Agents UK. She lives in Scarborough and is happiest when on her bike, travelling
overland or cooking for friends.

Alan Wilson

Director - Net Zero Group

Alan founded a management consultancy in 1995 specialising in strategy development,
implementation, and director development. This consultancy worked with clients from
public and private sectors and included family-owned SME’s to £4bn pan-European groups.

Alan has had several non-exec roles the longest being 12 years in duration with one of the
UK’s oldest manufacturers in Liverpool.

In 2019 Alan developed the plan for the NetZero ‘Group’ of companies identifying the
opportunities arising from the significant challenges faced by property owners in meeting
the decarbonisation target for 2050. The focus of the Group is on delivering domestic
retrofit at scale using Retrofit Hubs which employ and train local people thereby creating
real economic benefits as a direct consequence of decarbonisation.

Steve Frampton

Steve Frampton MBE -

Steve began his teaching career at Prices College in Fareham. Then followed a teaching career with management responsibilities at Peter Symmond’s College Winchester, where he was President of the Geographical Association, alongside being a PTRI inspector for ALI, FEFC, and then OFSTED. After being the Vice Principal at Saint Vincent College, he became Principal of Portsmouth College for 13 years. Steve “retired“ at 60, only to be elected by his peers to be their AoC President the very next day on August the 1st 2018.

In April 2023, Steve founded SS4FE (Sustainability Support for Further Education) a not-for-profit consultancy designed to promote and financially support awards for students in the green skills/sustainability space, in their FE Colleges and partnerships.

Steve continues to be a Board member of the AoC Charitable Trust, UNLOC, EFEC, and Pompey in the Community. He is the patron of ‘Off the Record’ (A mental health charity for young people) a strategic adviser for JISC , and
regularly does webinars, podcasts and conference chairing and key notes for the EAUC, ETF, LANDEX, JISC, and other institutions and partnerships.
