This award celebrates a business leader or entrepreneur who shows outstanding drive, commitment and results. In no more than 750 words, applicants should demonstrate how the individual excels in the following areas;

• Entrepreneurial skills and inspiration to others
• Leadership skills and ability to bring their team into their vision and future plans

This award will recognise any apprentice or trainee who has gone that extra mile and exceeded the expectations of their trainer or mentor. In no more than 750 words, provide evidence of how your apprentice:

• Has shown exceptional drive and commitment to their apprenticeship, learning and personal development
• Is an inspiration to other apprentices and employees in the business
• Demonstrates an ability to overcome obstacles and barriers in learning or at work
• Has brought an idea into the business which has had tangible results to the company

This award recognises a business that can demonstrate an efficient and innovative approach to manufacturing. In no more than 750 words, applications should show:

• Growth and consistent commercial performance, increased market share and operational effectiveness
• Approach to training, team and future talent
• Approach to sustainability and positive impact on the environment.
• Any investment in R&D and the ROI it has generated

To recognise outstanding performance by a company with a workforce of 1-249 staff who is excelling in their field. In no more than 750 words, entrants must demonstrate:

• Evidence of clear strategy and vision, aligned with financial growth and/or team
• How you have overcoming challenges and turned difficult situations around
• Excellence in your field and commitment to customer service
• Investment in training and performance
• Innovative or effective marketing

This category is aimed at independent businesses in the region. This could be a privately owned business, a sole proprietorship or a business owned by a very small group of individuals. In no more than 750 words, entrants will need to:

• Explain the ethos and background of the independent business, including its profitability and the unique selling points which make it a success
• Outline the difference the business has made in its sector and how it has overcome any challenges 
• Detail any future projections or plans for the business

Entrants can be providers of healthcare from wellbeing services, personal trainers, hospices, physiotherapists, care homes, private healthcare, pharmacists, yoga retreats, gyms and more. We want to hear from the businesses that look after the people in the area.

• How you go above and beyond to look after the wellbeing of your clients/customers
• Ways your strategy is different to other companies in your field
• Testimonials from clients/customers about their experience.

This award recognises accommodation providers both large and small that deliver exceptional customer experiences, provide a wide range of facilities and excellent catering options to ensure guests have the most comfortable stay. We are looking for entries from B&B’s, Guest Houses, Hotels and Caravan Parks. Your application should be no more than 750 words and should include: 

• Overview of your business and top achievements in the last 12 months
• Approach to team, staff retention and training
• Approach to customer experience and loyalty
• Involvement in the local community

• Your top achievements in the last 12 months and plans for the next 5 years

Culinary delights are often a key focus for many when deciding where they will visit next. Whether it’s a coastline with the best seafood, a rural destination with the very best home-grown produce, a pub with the best roast or maybe even a Michelin star awarded chef, this award recognises the must-visit locations to tempt the taste buds. 

Whether your business is a takeaway, pop-up, street food vendor, cafe, restaurant, pub or bar serving great food we want to hear from you. In no more than 750 word please include:

• How you ensure your staff and customers remain engaged with your product or service
