I'm the Editor at the Yorkshire Evening Post, based in Leeds. Born and raised in the city, I started as a trainee reporter in West Yorkshire in 2015. My first job was at the Wakefield Express covering Wakefield and the Five Towns area including Castleford, Normanton, Pontefract, Ossett and beyond. I then spent time at the Dewsbury Reporter series, covering Mirfield, Batley, Birstall, the Spen Valley and Morley and have also worked in Harrogate and Halifax. I eventually landed a role at the YEP where I continued as a senior reporter before joining the newsdesk here. During my reporting career at the title, I've covered hundreds of stories across topics ranging from transport and crime all the way through to culture and health. I have also led various campaigns including the YEP's #SpeakYourMind mental health campaign, which was praised by Kensington Palace, and We Love Our NHS series. And I've since worked various roles - from Newsdesk Content Assistant to Head of News and, latterly, Deputy Editor - before taking over as Editor of this historic title.
Being Leeds-born, I know just how passionate the people who live and work here feel about the city. I'm proud to lead our coverage of Leeds where we have a dynamic, growing economy and a wealth of creative talent bubbling under the surface which has led to the likes of Channel 4 choosing to put down roots here. I'm also passionate about sport too and a hardened fan of our fantastic football club Leeds United and rugby giants Leeds Rhinos. I've cheered on the mighty Whites in The Kop at Elland Road and roared on the Rhinos and Headingley and at Old Trafford, to see them clinch Grand Final glory.
