The Huddersfield Health Innovation Incubator (HHII) supports emerging health and wellbeing enterprises across West Yorkshire. Delivered through a partnership between Kirklees Council, the University of Huddersfield and 3M Buckley Innovation Centre, it forms part of the West Yorkshire Health Innovation and Digital Tech Investment Zone. HHII offers inclusive, fully funded membership with access to events, expert networks and tailored support - from early-stage programmes and product development to mentoring and collaboration with academic and clinical partners. A new Health Business Innovation Centre, opening in 2026 on Huddersfield’s National Health Innovation Campus, will expand the HHII programme’s support for growing enterprises.

NIHR HealthTech Research Centres (HRCs) work with medical device, diagnostic and digital health technology companies to develop, evaluate and validate new medical technology and diagnostics.
HRCs are centres of excellence located in leading NHS organisations across England that accelerate the development of healthcare technologies to improve the effectiveness and quality of health and care services. HRCs can help medical device, digital technology and diagnostic companies (collectively known as HealthTech) to develop new innovative medical technologies. This includes help to generate the evidence to demonstrate financial value (health economics) or improve operational efficiency in the NHS (real-world evidence generation).
