Schools Award
Recognising Primary and Secondary schools that can demonstrate and prove excellence in learning, engagement and ambition in the last 12 months. The entry must cover the following. How the school is making a positive contribution to the student experience. How the school is raising pupil achievement and aspirations, and creating a supportive and engaged school community. Collaborative work with other schools to raise standards and inspire learning.
Community Champion Award
This award celebrates an individual who has made a significant contribution to the community. Please explain why this person stands out above others, the positive impact they have on the people, the place and the businesses that operate there. This award recognises, encourages and rewards that person who is truly making a difference within their community.
Sports Person/Team of the Year
In this award we are recognising the unsung sporting heroes whose teamwork and determination have kept things going. Whether this is an individual or team, in up to 650 words, please describe the sport they are connected to, the impact they have had on others in the team or their sporting peers, how they motivate and support others and ways in which they have improved the overall engagement in their chosen sport.
Music & Arts Award
This award is for a person or group who has made a difference to the lives of others through music and the arts. It may be a longstanding music teacher or someone who thrives in helping others through drama, nominate someone you know that deserves this.
Inspirational Young Adult (up to 21 Years)
We are looking for a young person who is an inspiration to others. Please explain in as much detail as possible why they should be recognised as Inspirational Young Person of the Year. Perhaps they have overcome great odds or made sacrifices, excelled academically, achieved great sporting success, raised money for a good cause, or provided great support to someone with an illness or battling through a traumatic experience. No matter what they will be a credit to themselves and a role model for others around them.
Charity Fundraiser of the Year Award
This award recognises individuals/groups who by their hard work and dedication have made a difference to a charity or cause. The judges are looking for individuals or groups who have demonstrated continued commitment to a charity or individual through fundraising support and successfully managed or coordinated fundraising events whilst using initiative to maximise the impact of fundraising campaigns, giving their own time and effort to help out a good cause.
Volunteer of the Year Award
This award is to recognise an individual who continually dedicates their time to help others completely free of charge. Whether they support charities or CICs. The judges want to understand the person behind all their good work, how much time they spend volunteering, the impact they have on the cause, community or organisation and a testimonial from those around them.
Lifetime Achievement Award
A person who has been active in the business community for 25 years or above Has shown outstanding leadership characteristics throughout their career and has inspired and developed others to achieve similar success. Has achieved business excellence, evidenced through their business’s profitability, competitive advantage, innovation, flexibility and customer service. Has demonstrated a strong connection to the economy and communities of Lancashire.
Pride of Lancashire Award
Awarded to an individual or group whose efforts locally, nationally or internationally have embodied the Lancastrian spirit and whose achievements have consistently made you proud to be from Lancashire.
Tourism and Visitor Attraction Award
Open to any restaurant, hotel, café, pub, retail, leisure facility, visitor attraction or similar business excelling in its field and driving positive economic impact for the area. In no more than 1000 words, applications will demonstrate:
- Overview of your business and top achievements in the last 12 months
- Approach to team, staff retention and training
- Approach to customer experience and loyalty
- Involvement in the local community
Child of Courage Award - 14yrs and under
This award will go to a child (age 14 and under) who has shown courage in the face of adversity, such as dealing with an illness or battling through a traumatic experience. In up to 650 words, please describe how they have demonstrated an exceptional act of bravery and shown great character or fortitude. Testimonial can be included to support this entry.
Teacher of the Year Award
Do you know someone in education, from Early Years through to Apprentices or Higher Education, who is making a real difference to the young people they work with? In up to 650 words, judges would like to know what makes them stand out as an inspirational educator, how do they engage with the young people and what have been the lifelong benefits for those young people they support in their educational setting.
Healthcare Worker of the Year Award
This award champions the extraordinary efforts of a healthcare worker. In up to 650 words, judges would like to understand what motivates them, inspires them and also see evidence that this person has gone above and beyond to care for and empower the community and/or people they work with.
Sustainability Initiative Award
This award will be presented to a business that puts sustainability and the environment at the heart of its business. In no more than 1000 words, describe your company’s commitment to:
Ensuring its environmental impact is kept to an absolute minimum, for example through recycling, carbon offset, water conservation or sustainable energy schemes.
Sustainability achievements in the last 12 months. How you are helping to drive wider progress in the green economy Demonstrate your business growth and financial success whilst delivering social and environmental benefit.
