Here you will find the categories available to enter for this year's awards with a brief description about who is eligible to enter each category.

Create an account by clicking the NOMINATE Button where you will be redirected to our awards entry portal - there you will find further detailed criteria directives with guidance on what to supply with your entry for judging.

Entrants can submit into multiple categories however separate entries will need to be supplied as the judges will score by category specific criteria.

Foundation Apprentice

Open to secondary school students who are still in education while completing their National 5s and Highers. Foundation Apprenticeships provide valuable work experience and vocational training at lower SCQF levels, offering an introduction to a chosen industry.

The entry should be completed by either the apprentice, or school teachers.

Modern Apprentice

Open to apprentices aged 16 and above enrolled on their Modern Apprenticeship 12 months prior to the event date November 27, 2025  while working towards a recognised SVQ qualification.  

The entry should be completed by either the apprentice, employer or training provider

Graduate Apprentice

Open to apprentices, who have a degree and who were enrolled in their programme 12 months prior to the event date November 27, 2025 Studying for the highest SCQF levels, equivalent to a postgraduate degree.

The entry should be completed by either the apprentice, employer or training provider.

Construction Apprentice

Open to apprentices, who were enrolled in their programme 12 months prior to the event date November 27, 2025 and work within the construction industry.

The entry should be completed by either the apprentice, employer or training provider.

Energy & Utilities Apprentice

Open to apprentices who were enrolled in their programme 12 months prior to the event date November 27, 2025 and work within Energy & Utilities Sector or apprenticeship.

Engineering / Manufacturing Apprentice

Open to apprentices, who were enrolled in their programme 12 months prior to the event date November 27, 2025  and work within the engineering or manufacturing sectors.
The entry should be completed by either the apprentice, employer or training provider.

Health and Social Care Apprentice

Open to apprentices, who were enrolled in their programme 12 months prior to the event date  November 27, 2025 and work within the health or Social Care service sectors.

The entry should be completed by either the apprentice, employer or training provider.

Professional Services Apprentice

Open to apprentices, who were enrolled in their programme 12 months prior to the event date November 27, 2025 and work within professional services.

The entry should be completed by either the apprentice, employer or training provider.

Technology & Digital Apprentice

Open to apprentices, who were enrolled in their programme 12 months prior to the event date November 27, 2025 and work within a digital or technology sector.

The entry should be completed by either the apprentice, employer or training provider.

Mentor

This category is for an individual who has encouraged and inspired apprentices throughout their training programme. Mentors can be the line manager, a training provider or someone that the apprentice works with who has greatly contributed to the individual’s development.

Entries should be completed by either the apprentice or an individual that has witnessed the impact that the mentor has had on the individual.

Apprentice Ambassador

This award celebrates individuals or organisations that have been outstanding advocates for apprenticeships, raising awareness and championing opportunities for young talent. The entry should be completed by either the apprentice or organisation.

SME Employer

Open to businesses, with up to 249 employees, which offer an apprenticeship programme.

Large Employer

Training Provider/Programme

Open to colleges, organisations, or businesses that provide the training element of one or more apprenticeship programmes.

Nominations can be made either for a specific apprenticeship programme or a provider that offers multiple programmes.
